All right, buckle up your seatbelts, and let's go for a ride. Hollywood has made many wrong decisions for over a decade, and it looks like it is on the verge of demise. As an independent film producer for over 15 years, I think it is time for the film industry to move its home location somewhere else. Will that fix all the problems? No, but it will be a start in a new, heavily needed direction. I think Tennessee would be a great location.
I understand some people may have a preconceived idea of Tennessee, but don't cut yourself short until you know the whole story. Tax incentives that worked correctly would probably be welcome in Tennessee, and look at the land spread of vacant land to open a city and community. I don't want to go in-depth here, explaining every little incremental part of how it would best fit in making Hollywood into a NEW Hollywood, but it is something to consider.
On the other hand, if Hollywood wants to crash and burn, so be it! I know that may sound harsh, but putting up with another decade of Hollywood is not worth it, so independent filmmakers need to take notice of what is happening. Studios in Hollywood may find it hard to separate from their bad choices and let them stay active as they are, even in a new location. So this is the time for independent filmmakers to take control and lead the film industry instead of being dictated to on what to do by a failing industry. If the NEW Hollywood can be the INDEPENDENT NEW Hollywood, I strongly think that Tennessee would be an excellent place for the creative mindset that the film industry needs.
